OH LOOK PSION DUMP

This thing used to be x2 bigger but I split it

Old ass sketches, some back from Chicago, others just doodles
I was brainstorming for psion worldbuilding and just character stuff

So, quick rundown of the concepts in here

Horse mutts
Most frequently used mounts in new colonized worlds, particularly the frontier planet where Pint's/Bree's arc takes place at. They're much better performing than average horses, easier to maintain, able to digest about just any food and not too picky on it either, smarter and sturdier.

They're products of biological engineering with other alien species and the product is something that looks halfway horse
They can sport just about any color and patterns, courtesy of the vanity branch of the guys who created these things
Vehicles are very common in psion, though mutt horses and other bioengineered mounts have proven to be very valuable around difficult terrains and much easier to maintain

They all have long trunk-like snouts with dexterous graspers at the end. They're able to tuck it in the hollows of their mouth

Horse mutts come in two types. Male or female.

A) Male horse mutts are mostly restricted to plowing/burden jobs. They're VERY big, VERY strong, and VERY sturdy. Not nearly as fast as their mare counterparts, and much more docile as well, these guys are easy to have around and make great long-distance mounts

B) Mare horse mutts. Built for speed, these ladies are able to run faster than today's best race horses. They're bigger than normal horses, but smaller than their male counterparts. Mares tend to be more aggressive and alert than males and they're often protective of their riders (like in the case of Bree's mare, Lilith)

C) Floyd comforting Pint after he got one of his usual chalku-turnings and baaw'd. Just some old chalku dude helping the little new learner

D) SCARF FRILLS. was checking out new possible style for beetlehawk frills. They fold around neck area (genitals lol) in a bat-wing manner to provide warmth and protection. They can still spread it like old versions though instead of 'side frills' focused on the cheeks they're now all around the neck, thus giving them a more cobra-like display. EKANS EVOLVED INTO ARBOK

E) Random beetlehawk heads of each caste. Will obviously be revamped, these guys are a bitch

F) G'hai trekker

G) Just some little thumbnail showing off g'hai canyon architecture. Called 'dragon heads', g'hai build these massive terraces that jut out of cliff faces. Their villages are 'inside' the cliff wall and the terraces serve the purposes of merchant spots and for look-out stations

H) Quick study of Yer, one of the main etao characters in the story. He used to be with the rest of the etao children, including the das brothers (ekdas and rundas) and his own sister, who never made it past the first syllable and shared his own name 'yer'
In the first trial he was to face his training partner to a death match. The trial ground is flooded with a toxin that drives the children berserk and get rid of possible reluctance or compassion to carry on with the slaying of his/her partner.
In the trial he got his shit beat up but was spared. A 'sparing' is extreeeemely rare and in itself proves the worth of the one offering the act of compassion, being under the berserk toxin and what not. Yer was still dismissed as a 'dead' partner and was retired from the training.
He has a hard time adjusting as the failed trainee and has to fend for his own, being a cripple and all. Lucky him the etao caste is dexterous with their forelegs, so he finds a way to perform the rib mutilation to allow his lower arms to move and operate like how his upper ones would

He bears numerous scars from the ribbing and arm mutilation from the trial, as well as a neck scar from forceful removal of his monitor, a device that keeps track of trainees.

You'll be seeing this guy around a lot after I settle with his design

I) Quick half-assed reference for half-tf Pint. He's big and he still has chunks of human flesh, but bleeding from a lotta places because of his progressing shapeshift
